Exporting Audio in iMovie - Mono Format
2/26/2011
Posted by Azam Mohammed
Another video tutorial, I made for those people that use mono microphones or need to get sound to reach out from both channels. iMovie has a great built in Voiceover feature and it only records in stereo, but it's possible to export the audio in mono, that way you can hear from both channels, so the voiceover feature still comes in handy.
Here is a video showing how to perform this task:

Unboxing video of Samson G Track
1/18/2011
Posted by Azam Mohammed
This news isn't really Apple related, but I ended up getting a new condenser microphone, which I shall use for future podcasts, voiceovers and Skype calls etc. It is the Samson G-Track which I picked up from a local seller for $100. This included all the accessories including the Mic, and also a shockmount, which is quite nice. All in all it's a great product so far, I will have a test/ review of it up soon! For now enjoy the unboxing video! In the future I will also have a Garageband tutorial using this microphone.
Apple Event 2 days away and rumors of touchscreen iMac
8/30/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
The Apple event is only two days away and rumors have it we will see a revamped iPod Touch with a camera and reports also suggest a touchscreen much smaller iPod Nano, which measures a tiny 3 inches, rumors have it that Apple might remove the click wheel on the Nano's with a touch screen display instead. Interesting to see what will happen on September 1st. Will there be a price drop, we have no clue at the moment, but that would be nice.
Also other news states that a patent was discovered for using the iMac as a touch screen. Rumors show that the iMac will be able to move into tablet style mode, using the hinge at the back and the iMac will feature an iOS interface which will make it look like an even bigger iPod Touch. I am sure you will be able to switch between iOS and OSX though which would be marvellous. At the moment, all of this is just a rumor, stay tuned for more content.

Mac mini- Video review
7/09/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
There isn't much happening in the Apple world today as Apple is recovering from that fraud which happened in the app store earlier this week. So I had decided to make a video review of my 2.53ghz Mac mini and this is the late 2009 model. Last time I had a written review, but now that I have had it for around 5 months. I thought of making an in depth video review. This review is cut into three parts due to the fact YouTube only allows a 10 min upload per video.
New Mac mini released!
6/15/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
Today Apple had quietly released the new Mac mini and no one really expected it to be this recent and it looks quite different and is the first redesign in five years! The chassis is now made fully with aluminum and it now features 4 usb ports, FireWire 800 port, Ethernet, SD Card Slot, HDMI port and audio in and audio out. This is a significant update as many people wanted a full HDMI port so it could be easy to hook it up to any TV with ease. The design is 1.4 inches thin, rather than the old one being 2 inches and it seems to be really easy to be user replaceable with hard drives and memory, through the bottom padding. The Processor standard is 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2gb ram and 320gb Hard drive alongside with an nVidia 320m graphics chip. The Mac mini also features no more huge power bricks this model has no power brick which is really quite nice and the price it starts at is $699 USD which is $100 more but could be quite expensive. At one point where Apple had made the Mac mini to be cheap could now end up being on the expensive side for some. The design looks really identical to either the Apple TV or Time Capsule.
Will the new Mac mini sell? We can't tell yet and there are still flaws to be found in this redesign. Also there is a server model of this Mac mini with a 2.66ghz processor and 7200rpm drive which is much faster than the previous hard drives and the price for that stays at $999. That is the main news for now and also iPhone 4 pre-orders are today!
Here is a video of me providing an overview of the new Mac mini:
A demo on Safari 5

As we had talked about in previous posts, Apple has released Safari 5 and so far I am liking it and I made two videos to show you guys what I think of it and some of the new features, that you can find on it. I couldn't figure out the reader feature in the first video so I added that in the second video. Hope you enjoy the video and the recording of the video was used from the mic on my new webcam and so far it sounds quite decent, hope you enjoy the videos:
Unboxing HP Deluxe Webcam
6/08/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
This isn't much of an Apple news but I just recently bought this great webcam and it was around $50, it features a 12MP still image resolution with a 2.0 megapixel video camera sensor. The label on the packaging says it's only Window's Vista compatible but I have tried it with OSX and it works just fine. The other install disk that comes with it just makes neat effects which didn't come in much use for me but overall I really like this webcam and here is a video of me unboxing it:
Another iPhone 4G found in Vietnam
5/13/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
Remember last time we talked about how an Apple worker had left the iPhone 4G prototype in a bar and Gizmodo had gotten a hold of it and the news was leaked? Now more news comes up this time about a man in Vietnam who discovered a prototype though this one he shows in a video is different than the one found in the bar few weeks ago... now this brings up questions could this be the actual iPhone 4G because as of now there are two different prototypes and the one shown by the vietnamese man seems to be stuck on some screen with fire and not much of the software is shown, but the backing on this model seems to be glossy opposing to the matte version shown before in the bar. This one seems like it is also real and Apple haven't really mentioned anything about this iPhone 4G found in Vietnam.
Here is a video of the next found iPhone 4G in Vietnam:
Mac mini boot speed test
4/25/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
I got questions from people asking about how fast the Mac mini is and I made a video to show you the boot speed, I believe it is very fast and a great machine overall! The boot speed is around 37 seconds and considering I have loaded it with a lot of software it still seems to out run my old PC. More updates in the world of Macintosh and about the Mac mini coming soon.
A look at the new Macbook Pro's
4/23/2010
Posted by Azam Mohammed
Reviewers seem to give the new Macbook Pro's a thumbs up but consumers aren't happy with the fact that with a $2000 laptop there is still no blu-ray or HDMI connectivity. You can find PC's with the same amount of power for a cheaper price. But then again this is an Apple product. The people at Cnet, give us a look and a review of the new Macbook Pro.
The graphics are also now much improved from the last nVidia 9400m compared to the 330GT which is now included on the 15 and 17 inch Macbook Pro's
iPhone 4G leaked

People buying an iPhone soon, keep alert that there is a new iPhone rumour on the loose but this doesn't seem like it's a rumour although pictures shown on Gizmodo show that this might be the real thing. Not much is known spec wise but it seems the model shown is the 32gb model by Gizmodo. The design also has changed and it also has various more buttons on the outside. It also looks to be much thinner than the previous iPhone 3GS.
Here is a short video by Gizmodo:

iPad released today in the U.S.
4/03/2010

Well, today is the big day for Apple because it is the release of the iPad. Many people woke up early and were the first to visit the Apple store and Best buy at 9 am EST to pickup an iPad and people who pre-ordered also got their's on time. The hype is really big and people have changed their minds about the iPad just being a bigger iPod Touch, it comes bundled with many apps and a nice add-on is the iWorks package which looks pretty to good to work on the iPad. There is also the iBooks store which makes reading a joy! It will surely dominate the Amazon Kindle. The iPad is proving to be more than just a bigger iPod Touch and even though you don't get many accessories with the iPad, the software included makes it even. The speakers on the iPad are far better than the iPod and thanks to the iBooks store this may as well dominate the Amazon Kindle. Many developers managed to get their hands on one and the iPad is off to a good start the first day! The Wifi model was released today, expect the 3G models to be released in a few weeks. Cnet managed to get the iPad yesterday and have already released a review!
Here is one of the review of the iPad and a special thanks to Cnet and Donald Bell for the review:

Apple iPad

Reviewer's managed to get the iPad at hand a day before others and on YouTube, quite a bunch of videos of the iPad are coming. We got to see how Cnet unbox their iPad and talk about their first impressions. More peripherals are also shown being unboxed and also the case for the iPad in my opinion looks pretty darn nice! The accessories are purchased separately (The case and the longer power cord as well as the dock) Overall it looks pretty good and we will have more soon.
Here is the video, hope you guys enjoy and a special thanks to Cnet for this:
