Apple had a very successful third quarter this year, even after a little bit of hiccups with their iPhone 4, sales still remained quite strong. Apple claimed a record revenue of $15.7 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.25 billion. These results compare to revenue of $9.73 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.83 billion in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 39.1 percent compared to 40.9 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales were accounted as 52 percent of the quarter’s revenue. Apple sold nearly 3.5 million Macs during the quarter. Apple also sold 8.4 million iPhones in the quarter, which showed a 61 percent growth over the year-ago quarter. Apple sold 9.41 million iPods during the quarter. The iPad also had sales of around 3.27 million.

Well as you can see Apple remains strong in terms of sales, even though there was a decline in sales of iPod's, that could be due to the fact the iPad was released this year and was quite a boom for Apple.
